Our trip in numbers: 2 people, 9 countries, 4 months, 114 Days.
Our route goes counter-clockwise around the Pacific Ocean from San Diego to Hawai’i. We fly onward from Hawai’i to Japan, where we have Japan Rail passes to get around the country on the bullet train. The JR Beetle hydrofoil takes us from Fukuoka, Japan to Busan, Korea in just 3 hours. After Korea, we fly to Hanoi, Vietnam. After Vietnam is Cambodia and the ancient temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. Onward from Cambodia is Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore by train. We fly from Singapore to Australia and then on to New Zealand for Christmas.
